SHIVER ME TIMBERS

I've always had a curious streak concerning where do old sayings come from? like this one, and while i'm at it, why do lumbermen shout timber anyway? and why don't golfers shout something weird like peekout, or bruiser? life is full of questions, some we'll never know the answer to. But keep sway in your swing Eh?
